Today, for the first time, I felt winter in the air, not just fall. The wind was definitely heralding harsher weather to come.
This weather reminds me of why I try to plan ahead and keep my life organized. When the weather is ugly, I don't want to face a ton of errands with a tight deadline. I'd rather have the freedom and flexibility to just head home, knowing that I have the ingredients for a yummy dinner, a movie to watch, a good book to read, or a craft to fill my evening.
Alternatively, I can use a dreary evening to tidy up the house or do laundry or bake, knowing that I can free up additional time later to spend with friends or to do something social.
I think that's the reason behind planning -- it buys you freedom and flexibility. If you keep up with the basics, you can afford a night off to rest or veg or do anything else you love. It's worth the effort.
Went to mail some letters and it was snow flurrying when I came home. I just got a recipe for crock pot sweet potatoes. Do you want it?
