It seems like there were two choices on television yesterday: sports or 9/11 anniversary coverage. Full disclosure: I watched some of both. I started to think about what insights the 9/11 anniversary could give to the subject of this blog. Here's what I came up with:
-
Time spent with family and friends -- both the formal fancy celebrations and the day-to-day interactions make the memories we cherish.
-
Never put off an opportunity to do a kindness or to show someone your love.
-
Keeping your life in basic order gives you the freedom to help others and enjoy good times.
-
Never miss a chance to celebrate. Saving things (a new dress, a special candle, the good chocolate, etc.) for an as-yet undetermined special occasion is not wise. Enjoy life as it comes. Don't wait for things to be perfect.
Yes, yes, yes, and yes!

I buried my mother in a dress that still had the tags on it.
